Why does an iPad screen cost more than a phone screen?
There's more glass, and on most iPads the digitiser is bonded to the display, so the whole assembly is replaced rather than just the front. The part costs more and the job takes longer — usually a couple of hours rather than one.
My iPad won't hold a charge. Is that the battery or the port?
Either, and they need different repairs. A $50 diagnostic (credited toward the repair) tells us which — a port that's full of pocket lint is a much smaller job than a worn cell, and we'd rather find that out before quoting you.
Can you fix a tablet on site, or does it go back to the bench?
Battery and charging port work is usually done on site. Screen replacements are often better on the bench, because bonded glass needs controlled heat to come off cleanly — we'll tell you which when you book.
Do you repair Android tablets as well as iPads?
Yes. iPads are what we're asked for most, so they're what's listed, but Galaxy Tab and other Android tablets are routine work. Book and type in your model.
