This Privacy Policy explains how MileageSync ("MileageSync," "we," "us," or "our") collects, uses, shares, and protects information when you use the MileageSync mobile application, website, and related services.

MileageSync is a mileage and trip tracking app that helps users track drives, record routes, calculate trip distance and duration, review trip history, and generate reports and exports.

Information We Collect

  • Location data - including precise device location, trip start and end points, trip waypoints, route history, timestamps, and other location-related trip data needed to track mileage and generate reports.
  • Background location data - if you grant permission, MileageSync may collect location data while the app is running in the background in order to automatically detect, continue, and finalize trips even when the app is not open on your screen.
  • Account and profile information - such as your name, email address, authentication identifiers, and settings if account-based features are enabled.
  • Trip and report information - including trip notes, categories, classifications, summaries, export settings, start and end addresses, and mileage reports you generate.
  • Device and app information - such as app version, device type, operating system, crash information, diagnostics, and basic performance data.
  • Advertising and analytics information - if ads, analytics, or similar tools are enabled, third-party services may collect limited device or usage information in accordance with their own policies.
  • Physical activity or activity recognition data - if you grant permission, MileageSync may access motion or activity recognition information from your device, such as whether the device is still, walking, biking, or in a vehicle, to support automatic trip detection and mileage tracking.

Physical Activity / Health-Related Data

MileageSync may access and process physical activity or activity recognition data from your device, such as whether the device appears to be moving, still, walking, biking, or in a vehicle, if you grant the relevant permission on your device.

We use this data to support MileageSync's core trip tracking features, including:

  • helping detect when a drive or trip begins,
  • helping distinguish driving from non-driving movement,
  • supporting automatic trip tracking while the app is in use or running in the background,
  • helping determine when a trip has paused or ended, and
  • improving the accuracy and reliability of automatic mileage capture.

We do not use physical activity or health-related data solely for advertising purposes. If you deny this permission, certain automatic trip detection or trip tracking features may be reduced or unavailable.

Background Location Disclosure

MileageSync may access and collect background location if you grant that permission on your device. We use background location to support the app's core trip tracking functionality, including:

  • detecting when a trip begins,
  • continuing trip tracking while the app is not open on screen,
  • recording trip route points and progress,
  • calculating mileage, trip duration, and trip summaries,
  • detecting when a trip ends, and
  • saving completed trips for later review and reporting.

We do not request or use background location solely for advertising purposes. If you deny or disable background location permission, some automatic trip tracking features may not work correctly.

How We Use Information

  • Provide, operate, maintain, and improve MileageSync.
  • Track trips, routes, mileage, distance, and duration.
  • Generate trip histories, summaries, exports, and reports.
  • Display start and end addresses and route information.
  • Support manual and automatic trip tracking features.
  • Respond to inquiries, support requests, and account-related requests.
  • Diagnose bugs, improve performance, and maintain app reliability and security.
  • Serve ads or measure ad performance, if advertising is enabled.
  • Comply with legal obligations and enforce our terms and policies.

How We Share Information

We do not sell your personal information for money. We may share limited information in the following situations:

  • Service providers - with vendors that help us operate the app or website, such as cloud hosting, data storage, authentication, analytics, crash reporting, export generation, mapping, or customer support providers.
