Repair guide
Mail-in or come to you: which to choose
Both get the same repair and the same warranty. The difference is your device, your schedule, and where you are.
Two ways to get a repair done, same technicians, same parts, same 90-day warranty on the work. Which one suits you comes down to three things.
Choose on-site if
- You’re in New Jersey. That’s where we drive. Home, office, anywhere the device is.
- It’s a phone and you need it today. Most screen and battery jobs are done in about an hour, in front of you, and you never hand the device to a courier.
- You don’t want to be without it. No shipping time, no wondering where it is.
- You’d rather ask questions in person. Plenty of people want to be shown what failed. Fair enough — it’s your device.
Choose mail-in if
- You’re outside New Jersey. Mail-in is nationwide; on-site isn’t.
- It’s console or board-level work anyway. HDMI ports, disc drives and thermal work go back to the bench regardless, so an on-site visit only moves where the handover happens.
- Your schedule doesn’t have an appointment-shaped hole in it. Boxing something up at 11pm is easier than being home for a visit.
- The device isn’t your daily driver. A spare tablet or a console can be away for a few days without disrupting anything.
What mail-in actually involves
You book, and you get a ticket number and a shipping label straight away — no waiting for us to email one. Pack the device, drop it off, and track the ticket online at every stage. We diagnose, quote you before any work starts, and ship it back.
The quote step matters: beyond the $50 diagnostic, nothing is charged until you’ve said yes to the repair — even if the diagnostic finds something worse than expected. That $50 comes off the repair price if you go ahead.
What neither option changes
- Diagnostics cost $50 either way, credited toward the repair if you go ahead.
- The price is the same. No handling fee for mail-in, and the on-site repair price doesn’t change by town — a travel fee can apply toward the outer edge of our coverage area, but you’ll always see it quoted before you confirm. The prices on this site are the prices.
- The warranty is the same 90 days on the work, physical and liquid damage excluded.
One thing to get right before shipping
If the device has liquid damage, turn it off and leave it off — don’t charge it, and don’t power it up to back things up. Corrosion does its damage on a powered board, and a device that arrives dry and off has much better odds. There’s more in the first-hour guide.
Ready either way: mail it in, or check whether we already cover your town.
